John Wildermuth, flute/clarinet/oboe/saxophone/mandolin
Mr. Wildermuth has over 40 years of teaching experience on Clarinet, Saxophone, Mandolin and Ukulele. He began teaching woodwinds in 1968 after graduate of University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Since moved to Atlanta in 1999, Mr. Wildermuth has played professionally with orchestras like Atlanta Pops, Atlanta Opera and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Wildermuth is retired from performing and is teaching privately in metro Atlanta area. His students have won positions in All-State orchestras and many different youth orchestras in Atlanta.
Brandon Soloff, trumpet
Brandon Soloff is a native of Roswell, GA. He began his study of trumpet at age 10 and has since studied with Thomas Hooten (Principle Trumpet of the LA Philharmonic), Robert Murray, and the late Lew Soloff. Brandon graduated from Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music in Columbus, GA with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Brandon has performed in wind bands and orchestras under the direction of Jamie L. Nix, Paul Hostetter, Craig Kirchhoff, Steven D. Davis, Eugene Corporon, Mallory Thompson, H. Robert Reynolds, Allan McMurray, Kevin Sedatole, and Gary Hill.
In high school, Brandon participated in the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (2012), Atlanta Trumpet Ensemble (2010-2012), Georgia Music Educator’s Association All-State Bands (2010-2011), and the acclaimed Georgia Governors Honors Program (2011) as a trumpet major. Brandon has performed at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN in 2015 with the Columbus State University Wind Ensemble. In addition to the CSU Wind Ensemble, Brandon also participated in the Columbus State University Philharmonic, Schwob Jazz Orchestra, Columbus State University Trumpet Ensemble (National Trumpet Competition Ensemble Semi-Finalists 2014-2016), and was the co-founder of the Blue River Brass Quintet.
In addition to his studies and being a well-known member of the Columbus and Atlanta freelance music scene, Brandon also maintains a private studio of students and a busy teaching schedule as a Brass Instructor during Marching Band season. Brandon also was the Assistant Director of Operations and Production for the 25th Annual National Trumpet Competition which was hosted in Columbus, GA in March of 2016.
Brandon student taught with Alfred Estep at John’s Creek High School in John’s Creek, GA. Brandon is currently a member of the 2016-2017 Cobb Wind Symphony under the direction of Alfred Watkins. Corey Sherman, trombone, tuba, euphonium
Corey Sherman is currently freelancing in the Atlanta Metro area as a Tuba performer, clinician, and private instructor for Tuba and Euphonium. His primary teachers are Andrew Miller, Demondrae Thurman, and Joel Mason, with additional instruction from Sam Pilafian, David Zerkel, Eric Bubacz. Corey is currently performing with the Emory University Wind Ensemble and the Tara Winds, an Atlanta-based community band. Corey qualified as a Finalist in the Artist Division Solo Competition of the International Euphonium and Tuba (IET) Festival in Atlanta, GA; Finalist in the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference (ITEC) Mock Military Band Audition; and was selected as a participant in the 2nd annual United States Air Force Band Collegiate Symposium. As an orchestral performer, Corey has recently played with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
Corey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Alabama. While there, he performed with the University’s Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and marched in the “Million Dollar” Band. In addition to large ensembles, Corey has performed and competed with the Southern Bells Tuba-Euphonium Quartet, winning the First Place in the Chamber Music Competition at the Southeastern Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference (SERTEC). Corey continued his involvement with the University’s Education Department, and was elected Vice-President for the UA’s chapter of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Upon graduating from the University, Corey earned a Master of Music Degree in Music Performance from Columbus State University, serving as a Graduate Assistant to the Schwob School of Music. At CSU, Corey served as a Graduate Assistant to the School of Music. During his time at CSU Corey performed with Columbus Brass, the school’s faculty brass quintet, the CSU Philharmonic, and the CSU Wind Ensemble, which was selected to perform at the Collegiate Band Director’s National Association (CBDNA) Conference in 2015.
A self-proclaimed foodie, Corey enjoys exploring new restaurants and recipes with his friends and family.
