William Pu Music Academy is honored to accept the invitation from the Bach Society to perform a concert at the Georgia State Capital. The music will including the J. B. Bach Brandenburg Concert No. 3 and other music. The concert is on Thursday, August 6 at noon. The Concert is free and open to the public.
We are pleased to announce that our academy student, Monica Chang, a freshman at North Gwinnett High School, has won the Georgia Symphony Youth Orchestra 2014 Concerto Competition! She will be featured as a soloist and perform Bach E Major Violin Concerto with the Georgia Symphony Youth Orchestra during their 2014-2015 season. Our other academy student, George Pan, a junior in Johns Creek High School also has won the concertmaster position with the Georgia Symphony Youth Orchestra for 2014-2015 season. We are so proud of Monica and Georgia and congratulate to their great achievement!
We are very proud that three of our students received awards and recognition at the recent GMTA State Auditions for Instrumental, Instrumental Concerto, Voice and College Piano. Ling Yi Xin, age 15, was recognized as Conference Recitalist in the 10th and 11th Grade Division. She also was selected as the first alternate in the concerto competition. Grace Chen, age 14, received an Award of Excellence in the 8th and 9th Grade Division. Serena Gao, age 13, received an Award of Excellence in her 6th and 7th Grade Division. We are very proud of these students and of their achievements. Congratulations to Ling Yi, Grace and Serena!
17 year-old Justin Lee and 16 year-old Tony Gong, both our students, recently won first place and honorable mention in the high school division of the 2014 Georgia College’s Performance Competition for Strings. Justin won first place with an outstanding and expressive performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto while Tony earned his honor with his strong performance of the Lalo Symphonie Espagnole. We are so proud of Justin and Tony’s achievement. Congratulations to these outstanding musicians!
